  • Baby boomers between 1946 – 1965 have a 5x higher risk.
  • Those receiving blood transfusion before 1992 and people receiving blood clotting factors before 1987.
  • Exposure to unsanitary piercing and tattoo equipment.
  • Those with history of injection drug use.
  • People infected with the HIV virus.
  • Children born to mothers with hepatitis C.
  • Dialysis patients.
